TCGplayer is adding free tracked packing slips for envelope orders, rolling out to sellers from November 2 and to everyone by November 6. It's good news for anyone shipping plain white envelopes: more PWEs will get a USPS barcode, and more sellers will get protection when a buyer says an order never arrived.
We build TCGHaulTracker, so we're not neutral, but we'll be straight with you. For a lot of orders, TCGplayer's slip is all you need. Here's what it covers, where it stops, and where TCGHaulTracker fits.
What TCGplayer's tracked slip does
From TCGplayer's announcement and help article:
- It prints a USPS Intelligent Mail barcode under the buyer's address on TCGplayer's own packing slip, free, for eligible orders.
- Eligible orders are TCGplayer orders of $49.99 and under, going to a USPS-verified U.S. address (including APO/FPO and U.S. territories).
- The slip goes in a standard #10 windowed envelope, printed on letter paper at 100% scale. It can't be used with non-windowed envelopes or a custom packing slip template.
- You choose it in TCGplayer's new Orders page and print slips one at a time or in bulk. Ineligible orders in a bulk print come out without a barcode. You add your own postage, such as a Forever stamp.
- You find the tracking number on each order's details page, and TCGplayer shares the tracking with your buyer automatically.
- Once USPS records at least one scan at a facility, the order can get TCGplayer's seller protection against "not received" claims, with no minimum order count.
Where it stops
The slip is built for one kind of order. It doesn't cover:
- Other envelopes and labels. TCGplayer says to use a #10 windowed envelope only. Printed envelopes, smaller envelopes, thermal address labels and 4×6 mailers aren't covered.
- Other marketplaces. eBay, Mana Pool, CollX and your own direct sales.
- Orders of $50 or more, which need a tracked package anyway.
- Orders that don't fit in one envelope.
- Postage. You still buy stamps or postage separately.

Using both
In short: TCGplayer's slip works if you ship one way, from one place. TCGHaulTracker works however you ship, wherever you sell.
Plenty of sellers will use both: TCGplayer's slip for simple windowed TCGplayer orders, and TCGHaulTracker for everything else, like printed envelopes and labels, eBay, Mana Pool and CollX orders, big orders that need splitting, package labels, and postage you don't want to buy at the post office.
Common questions
Do I still need TCGHaulTracker if I use TCGplayer's tracked slips?
Not for TCGplayer orders under $50 that you ship in a #10 windowed envelope. TCGHaulTracker earns its place on the rest: other envelopes and labels, other marketplaces, orders over $50, split orders and built-in postage.
Can I use TCGplayer's slip with thermal labels or printed envelopes?
No. TCGplayer's help article says to use a standard #10 windowed envelope and not to use the tracked slip with a non-windowed envelope. For printed envelopes and labels, TCGHaulTracker prints the barcode in the format you use.
Is either one proof of delivery?
No. Letter mail doesn't get a doorstep delivery scan with either one. You see USPS processing scans, which show the envelope was mailed and how far it got. For what's normal, see what PWE tracking looks like across 3,700 letters.
What about orders over $50?
TCGplayer requires tracked shipping for those, and neither letter option counts. TCGHaulTracker flags them and lets you buy a package label in the same place.
Ship the rest with TCGHaulTracker.
Try it on your own orders: 25 free orders, no credit card.
